The building stock in this area is varies. From the large villas along Edge Lane, and the pretty houses in Chorltonville, to houses built in the 1880s to accommodate people working in the city centre. As a Manchester architect, I would argue Chorlton contains some of the best examples of residential property in the city, with many interesting extensions and uses of space.

Chorlton Big Green Festival takes place in late March/April. It is an all-day event combining live music, dancing, food, real ale, cider, arts and crafts, workshops, cycling and films. The festival aims to encourage sustainable living in a fun and accessible way. It has a different theme each year and in 2011 the theme is Bike to the Future.
