The Lapwing Lane Arcade originally built in 1913, including a glass canopy with ornate wrought-ironwork, sits opposite the new Metrolink station in Didsbury.
Fundraising started in 2012 for it’s refurbishment when the arcade's cast-iron frame was rotting, cracks had appeared in the glass panes and ornate wrought iron brackets had fallen off. One part had to be removed entirely after a council van accidentally reversed into it.
Raynes Architecture came on board in March 2013 to oversee the project.

A family in Chorlton are now living in the home of their dreams after their dated 1920’s bungalow was given a stunning, modern redesign by Raynes Architecture. The brief was to create something that is fully accessible to all, without diminishing a feeling of style and space. For the owners of The Quoins, the reconfiguration was not only a way of invigorating their home and making it accessible, but also of future proofing the building.
